كانت البريكس منظمة بارزة خاصة في فترة الأزمات الجيوسياسية الجديدة التي بدأت بالحرب الأوكرانية الروسية. ومع انعقاد قمة البريكس في جوهانسبرج عام 2023، دُعِيت ستّ دول جديدة للانضمام إلى عضوية المنظمة. ينظر الكثير إلى البريكس -منذ تأسيسها- على أنها منظمة مناهضة للغرب، أو مناهضة للدولار، ولا شك أن الحرب الأوكرانية الروسية أدّت دورًا في تصعيد المناقشات حول هذه الفكرة. من ناحية أخرى، تريد تركيا أن تصبح عضوًا في البريكس، وكانت عضوية تركيا في البريكس موضوعًا لسلسلة من المناقشات، ولاسيما بشأن مسألة تحول المحور. ومع ذلك، تظهر البحوث أن البريكس منظمة ذات شروط عضوية مرنة، وتستهدف بشكل عام الدول النامية لتكون أعضاءً جددًا.
ABSTRACT BRICS has been a prominent organization especially in the period of new geopolitical crises that began with the Russian-Ukrainian war. With the BRICS summit in Johannesburg in 2023, six new countries were invited to join the organization as members. Since its establishment, BRICS has been an organization that has been discussed as an anti-Western or anti-dollar organization. The Russian-Ukrainian war has undoubtedly played a role in escalating these discussions. On the other hand, Turkey wants to become a member of BRICS and Turkey’s membership in BRICS has been the subject of a series of discussions, especially on the issue of pivotal shift. However, research shows that BRICS is an organization with flexible membership conditions and generally targets developing countries as new members.
