ملخَّص: تعالج هذه الدراسة مفهوم التاريخ العسكري وموضوعه ومنهجه، وتعرض مراحل تطور هذا المفهوم، وعلاقته بالمعارف والعلوم الأخرى. وقد تناولت الدراسةُ الخلفيةَ التاريخية والعسكرية والأكاديمية للتاريخ العسكري، وأبرز النقاشات العلمية حوله، إضافة إلى أهم ركائز هذا الحقل. فقد شهد التاريخ العسكري تحولات جذرية منذ العصور القديمة حتى العصر الحديث، متجاوزًا السرد البطولي للمعارك نحو تحليلات إستراتيجية، واقتصادية، واجتماعية شاملة. تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى تتبّع مراحل تطور التاريخ العسكري عالميًّا، مع التركيز على التحوّلات المنهجية التي رافقت هذا التطور، واستعراض نماذج بارزة من الأدبيات التاريخية ذات الصلة. ABSTRACT: This study addresses the concept of military history, its subject matter, and its methodology, and it presents the stages of development of this concept and its relationship with other fields of knowledge and sciences. The study examines the historical, military, and academic background of military history and highlights the major scholarly debates surrounding it, in addition to the key pillars of this field. Military history has undergone fundamental transformations from ancient times to the modern era, moving beyond the heroic narration of battles toward comprehensive strategic, economic, and social analyses. This study aims to trace the global development of military history, focusing on the methodological shifts that accompanied this evolution, and to review prominent examples from related historical literature.
